Best Freight Forwarding Software (2026): Six Platforms Compared, Prices Checked
Not a ranked list with a trophy at the top. The six platforms forwarders actually shortlist together, in alphabetical order, each on the four things that decide a purchase: who it is built for, whether a price is published, how you get live, and whether it files US customs from the shipment — with every competitor described from its own site and labelled as such.
Short answer. There is no best freight forwarding software; there is the best one for the operation you run. A group of separate legal entities filing customs in many countries with in-house IT should look at CargoWise and accept usage-based, unpublished pricing. An enterprise that needs customs and security filing inside a larger connectivity stack looks at Descartes. A US-facing forwarder that wants a sales team to size a plan looks at GoFreight. A one-to-three-person desk that needs quotes, shipments, documents and invoices at the lowest list price looks at Logitude World. A forwarder that wants a standalone WMS or ABI entry filing looks at Magaya. A forwarder, NVOCC or 3PL — one office or many — that wants the whole file on one record, the warehouse included, ISF and AMS filed under its own bond, a ledger inside, and the price before the demo looks at Linbis: $150 a month including one user, $299 including three, free trial without a card. Linbis publishes this page, so read the concessions before the recommendations.
How this list was built
- Only platforms we measured are listed. Six vendors’ public sites and pricing URLs were requested on 5–6 September 2026 and what came back is recorded. Vendors we did not measure are not on the page — which is why it is six, not ten.
- Alphabetical, no ranks. Linbis is not placed first and is not awarded anything; its row is shaded so you can find it.
- Competitor capabilities are their public positioning. We have not operated their products; we describe what their sites say and label it. The Linbis entry describes the shipped product, with counts taken from its configuration.
- Prices are checked, not assumed. A figure, a page with no figure, or no page — and nothing else.
- We disclose the conflict. Linbis publishes these pages.

CargoWise
The category’s reference platform. WiseTech Global positions CargoWise for global networks — groups of separate legal entities filing customs in many jurisdictions with consolidated books across them — and it is the deepest platform on this list for that job. Implementation is partner-led and measured in months. On 1 December 2025 WiseTech moved customers to usage-based “value packs,” stating there are “no longer any CargoWise Cloud standard hosting costs or seat fees”; it publishes no rate card, and the figures that circulate (GoFreight’s blog reports about $19.95 per full import container and $9.95 per standalone entry) are third-party. Best for: the multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction group with in-house IT. Weigh: a bill that rises in a busy quarter, and an implementation project. Full treatment on CargoWise alternatives.
Descartes
Descartes sells customs and regulatory compliance, security filing, B2B connectivity, transportation management and a global logistics network as a stack; its broker and forwarder enterprise systems sit inside that stack. Pricing is not published and sales is enterprise. Best for: an enterprise that needs customs and security filing inside a larger connectivity platform. Weigh: the size of the stack relative to a forwarding desk’s needs. Descartes appears in the six-vendor CargoWise alternatives table.
GoFreight
GoFreight positions itself as “AI-powered freight forwarding software and an all-in-one TMS” for forwarders and NVOCCs, with ocean, air and trucking modules, accounting inside, a customer portal, an API, and a knowledge base organised as numbered lessons. Its pricing page shows a headline and a form to consult its experts, with no figure. Best for: a US-facing forwarder that wants a published training curriculum and a sales team to size the plan. Weigh: no published price; per-user plans (public positioning). Full treatment on GoFreight vs Linbis.
Linbis
Linbis runs the whole file — quote, shipping order, shipment, consolidation, warehouse, documents, customs filing, invoice, vendor bill and a double-entry ledger — on one record with one set of charge lines, so the price you quoted, the cost you accrued and the invoice you sent are the same rows. Up to 500 shipping orders imported from a spreadsheet become house shipments under one master in one action; more than 90 document templates, over 75 of which render live from the record; ISF 10+2 and AMS are assembled from the shipment and transmitted to CBP under your own SCAC and bond (Linbis is a CBP-approved software provider); the warehouse, included on Premium, scans offline and bills storage from a per-run snapshot; the ledger ships with a 91-account freight chart of accounts and syncs with QuickBooks Online across thirteen entity types, with payments and bill payments going both ways; the copilot sorts inbound email into 24 classifications and creates the record on one Approve, with four autonomy levels across 35 action categories when you are ready; the interface runs in seven languages and the customer portal in eight. Plans are flat with seats included — $150 a month including one user, $299 including three, enterprise by quote — and every plan starts with a free trial that does not ask for a card. Best for: the forwarder, NVOCC or 3PL, one office or many, that wants enterprise configuration without a consulting project and the price before the demo. Weigh (our own concessions): a smaller company than the others here; a small, old public review base; electronic customs filing is US CBP only, with no ABI entry filing; divisions are a reporting tag, not per-entity ledgers; a one-user desk pays more than Logitude’s list price.

Logitude World
Logitude World is cloud freight forwarding software sold per user, with shipment management, quote management, cross-dock warehousing, cost and profit-and-loss analysis, INTTRA and e-AWB connectivity on the mid plan, CRM on the top plan, and a customer tracking app and API gated at ten users. On the date above its Spanish pricing page listed Economy at $39, Business at $65 and Premier at $79 per user per month billed annually; its English pricing URL returned a 404. Self-serve trial. Best for: a one-to-three-person desk that needs quotes, shipments, documents and invoices at the lowest list price. Weigh: a bill that grows with every login, and the ten-user gate on API and tracking. Full treatment on Logitude World vs Linbis.
Magaya
Magaya calls itself “the #1 freight management platform for freight forwarders and customs brokers,” sells five products — Supply Chain, Customs Compliance (AMS, ISF and ABI), WMS, Rate Management and a Digital Freight Portal — and says it has 2,300+ customers in 100+ countries. Its pricing page returns a 404; implementation is sales-led. Best for: a forwarder that wants a standalone WMS as its own product, or a brokerage that files ABI entries all day. Weigh: no published price. Full treatment on Magaya alternative and Magaya vs CargoWise vs Linbis.
The features that actually decide it
Feature lists on vendor sites are long and interchangeable. Five things are not, and each can be tested in a trial:
- Is the charge one row or two? If the customer’s price and the carrier’s cost live in separate documents, the margin question is answered at month-end. On one line, it is answered while you type the quote.
- Is consolidation engineered or looped? How many houses does the platform build in one action, what cascades from the master, and does a bulk edit send a bulk email?
- Are documents rendered from the record, or saved as files? Correct one weight and count how many documents you reopen.
- Is customs filed from the shipment, under whose bond? Assembled from the record and scored for completeness, or re-keyed into a separate system?
- What may the AI do alone, and who decides? “AI-powered” is on every homepage. Ask what it writes without a person, and where the audit trail is.
How to choose in one week
Shortlist two platforms from the table, take the free trial where one exists and a demo where one does not, and run the same five checks on each with your own data: convert three real orders into houses under one master and change the vessel; correct one weight and reprint three documents; put income and cost on one charge line and issue the invoice and the vendor bill from it; assemble one ISF and see what is missing before transmission; forward one real booking email with a PDF and see what the AI proposes. Convert every price into dollars per year for your team at your volume — the pricing guide has the arithmetic — and add implementation and migration, the two costs no quote includes. A demo shows you the vendor’s shipment. A trial shows you yours.
Questions forwarders ask
What is the best freight forwarding software for a small forwarder?
For one to three people who need quotes, shipments, documents and invoices, Logitude World’s list price is the lowest on this page. For a small desk that consolidates, runs a warehouse, files ISF and AMS or keeps a ledger, Linbis includes those on flat plans starting at $150 a month. Test both on one live shipment.
What is the best freight forwarding software for a large forwarder?
A group of separate legal entities filing customs in many jurisdictions with in-house IT should look at CargoWise and accept a partner-led implementation and usage-based, unpublished pricing. A multi-office company that is one legal entity — or several offices in one country — can run every office on one Linbis record with division reporting, in seven interface languages.
Which freight forwarding software publishes its pricing?
On the date above: Linbis, at its pricing URL ($150 and $299 a month); Logitude World, on its Spanish pricing page (per-user plans). CargoWise, GoFreight, Magaya and Descartes publish no figure.
Which has the best customs filing?
CargoWise for multi-jurisdiction breadth; Magaya and Descartes position ABI entry filing; Linbis files ISF 10+2 and AMS from the shipment under your own SCAC and bond as a CBP-approved software provider, with entries left to the broker. Match the answer to what you actually file.
Why only six platforms?
Because these are the six we measured. Adding vendors we have not checked would mean repeating their marketing copy, which is what most “top 10” lists do. If a platform you shortlist is missing, tell us and we will measure it the same way.
